Bear Pose

A quadruped position assessment testing core stability, shoulder stability, and the ability to move a single limb without compromising spinal alignment or weight distribution.

Criteria to Pass

  • Client must be able to get into and hold the proper starting position
  • When a limb is lifted, none to minimal shifting of the torso occurs
  • Only the lifting limb moves — all other contact points remain fixed with no sliding or shifting
  • Scapula stays engaged and spine stays neutral throughout
  • Level 1: one limb lifts; Level 2: opposite arm and leg lift simultaneously
